John started his career as a CPA at Price Waterhouse Coopers where he first discovered his passion for commercial real estate. His real estate career includes senior leadership positions at renowned firms like JLL Capital Markets, CBRE, and Duke Realty Investments. He currently serves as the National Industrial Division Leader for KW Commercial. His expertise spans tenant representation, industrial site selection and development, equity and debt procurement, financial underwriting and analysis, and investment strategy execution. John’s teams have supported clients across various asset types, providing them with optimal real estate solutions.

John and his teams have directly completed over $4.5 Billion in deal volume including investment sales, portfolio recapitalizations, equity raises, tenant representation, development land acquisition and disposition and development projects. John also has extensive experience in asset management, portfolio management, financial reporting, and shareholder relations. In addition John lead CBRE’s Indianapolis office to 300% growth in revenues over a 5 year period, while increasing profitability margins, and leading CBRE from the third largest to the largest brokerage and service provider in the market. In 2015, John was named to the Midwest Real Estate News Hall of Fame.

Throughout his career John has always been relationship oriented and always puts his clients’ needs before his own, which has resulted in an incredible network of trusted advisors to rely on as he seeks to creatively solve his clients’ most challenging issues. He has developed institutional level skillset which he is now passionately applying to serve middle market companies.

John resides in Greenwood, Indiana with his wife, Julie Merrill. He enjoys time with his family, traveling the country in an RV with Julie, mentoring the next generation of business leaders, listening to music, and collecting vintage stereo equipment.
